Introducing Custom Dimensions for Explorer

Finance and FinOps teams often need more than standard fields when analyzing cloud costs. Custom Dimensions for Explorer lets you add the exact columns you care about—whether that’s Account Name, Region, or a specific tag—so you can tailor reports to specific business needs, track unique metrics and ensure compatibility when integrating data from various sources into your core finance systems.

What’s New

We are thrilled to announce Custom Dimensions for Explorer, available starting today! You can now add an unlimited number of columns to your tables directly from the Explorer page, located under Inform. This new feature allows for greater customization when saving your reports and exporting CSVs.

Add Your Own Columns to Explorer Tables

You can now add columns such as Account Name, Region, Tag key:value, and more to your reports. These can be saved alongside your existing reports, new reports, and even downloaded using our Download CSV feature.

How It Works

The Custom Dimension feature enables you to add custom columns for up to 100 resources. When a new column is added, the corresponding resource value is collected and displayed in order. If multiple values are found, such as Tag key values, you can choose how they are displayed

How To Get Started

To utilize the new Custom Dimensions in Explorer, navigate to the Explorer Page. From the dimension dropdown, choose either “Resource ID” or “Resource Name,” then scroll down to the bottom of the page to add your custom columns.
