New: Auto-Rightsizing for All Kubernetes Workloads

Last Updated: May 29, 2025, Announcement
Right-size every container in your cluster with a single click
Automatic Container Rightsizing ensures each workload runs at optimal CPU and memory levels without constant manual adjustments. This enables your applications to scale seamlessly and reduce costs by avoiding resource waste.
Today, we’re introducing a powerful new capability in Compute Copilot: one-click container rightsizing across all of your cluster—with the option to auto-rightsize all your future workloads too.
What's New
We’ve added support for:
- Cluster-wide rightsizing enablement – Apply your selected recommendation policy to your whole cluster in a single action.
- Auto-enablement for future workloads – Automatically apply rightsizing to any new workload created in the cluster going forward.
One-Click Rightsizing for All Workloads
You can now apply a rightsizing policy to every workload in a cluster with a single action. This removes the need to manually select individual workloads across multiple pages.
nOps Container Rightsizing Recommendations
nOps provides intelligent container rightsizing recommendations based on historical resource consumption patterns (p95, p98, p99, or max usage). These recommendations ensure optimal efficiency for your workloads while maintaining performance. You can also customize rightsizing policies to align with your specific Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. The following are the policies you can apply on the recommendations
nOps Recommendation Policies | |
Maximum Savings | Rightsize the containers with 0% threshold on top of nOps recommendations |
Maximum availability | Rightsize the containers with 25% threshold on top of nOps recommendations |
Dynamic | Rightsize the containers with 10% threshold on top of nOps recommendations |
Auto-Rightsize Future Workloads
Workloads change constantly—new services are deployed, jobs are updated, autoscaling events occur.
Now, when you enable rightsizing for a cluster, you can optionally turn on auto-enablement for future workloads. Any new container that appears in the cluster will automatically be right-sized using your selected policy.
How It Works
- Navigate to a cluster in Compute Copilot.
- Click Enable Rightsizing.
- Choose your policy (e.g., Balanced Savings).
- Check Auto-enable for future workloads.
- Confirm.
Rightsizing will be applied to all current workloads, and any future workloads will be automatically included.
